About the Erasmus+ Project

Our Erasmus+ multilateral project, STEM For All Seasons, involves five European schools

  • Scoil An Spioraid Naoimh, Limerick, Ireland
  • OS Vizmarje Brod, Slovenia
  • GS Aystetten, Germany
  • Agrupamento de Escolas de Nelas, Portugal

The primary focus of the project is on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) taught through the theme - Weather.
Our project will, we hope, increase the skill base of the staff and students involved.  The project will provide staff and students with the opportunity to become familiar with and use - Scratch, Robotics, Excel, The Internet of Things, sway, animation etc.
With the strong emphasis on open and innovative teaching methodologies embedded in the digital area it is envisaged that the resulting increase in motivation in our students will result in a marked increase in their skills in science, maths and literacy and in increased competency in the use of ICT.

This project aims to
  • Improve the overall delivery of STEM in all partner schools through effective teacher training
  • Foster the use of more effective and innovative teaching methodologies
  • Heighten motivation among students and staff
The impact of the project
  • Increased motivation and interest in the STEM subjects. This will be achieved through the use of a variety of engaging digital tools such as scratch, animation, robotics, Raspberry Pi. sway and
  • The digital skills of the students and staff will be greatly enhanced through the use of these innovative digital tools.
  • The increased interest and motivation in the STEM subjects will encourage our students to become future STEM graduates.
  • Each School has compiled a Weather Box with weather instruments  thereby enabling teachers to teach the STEM subjects in a more practical and environmentally friendly way.
